Vision
Our church is a group of people committed to one another in brotherly/sisterly love, united in the belief that God has given us a new life, and held together through our shared relationship with Jesus Christ.
We are a spiritual family pursuing deep, meaningful relationships enabled by the grace of God for all men and women. The strength of our community comes from a united dream to live out the teachings of Christ and to bring God’s story to the world around us.
The dream of Zolder50 reflects our heart to grow community, develop spiritual depth, and model the Kingdom of God.
Strategy
We want 50 to be a symbol for churches that experience the power of God in a variety of different expressions throughout the city of Amsterdam and perhaps someday beyond the city as well. All churches will have individual names with a common identity. The identity is 50. Our first church meets in the attic (zolder) of a canal-side building in the center of Amsterdam and is called Zolder50; if one were to meet in the east it could be called Oost50, and so on.
The vision is that 50 will be a biblical expression of faith, modeled after the church in the book of Acts, multiplying neighborhood churches throughout Amsterdam and saturating the city with the presence of God and His people. It is our hope that each church will create its own identity. This paradigm would allow people to meet the individual needs of their neighborhoods by expressing their creative sides through music, video, poetry and other art forms to create a worship style and atmosphere that could vary from 50 to 50. Churches will be tied together by their shared mission and values, their commitment to the Bible and the Spirit of God, and the individuals within in each church expression living by knowing Jesus, becoming more like him, and making him known.
